[It might be frustrating but Tony understands it. Steve had always been that way, and especially when they first started. Tony had more than once goaded and even straight out tried to explain him being a little rougher was fine. Appreciated even. He misses it. He does. But he's also not an idiot. He knows what his condition is. And he'd never think to push the line that far, especially not when the outcome could be him actually getting hurt and then Steve never forgiving himself for it.

When he's better. He keeps promising himself that. But when he's better, if he gets everything he wants out of this, they'll resume life. And it'll be good.

A thought that's backed further when Steve kisses him a little harder, something he can't help the soft noise over. Miss might be too light a word, but it'll have to do for now.
