Somehow I knew you would say that. ( because he knows erik well enough by now, and generally, no one likes hospitals. ) You've zero chance of getting released tonight, Erik, darling, but you'll be home tomorrow if that makes you feel better. ( he's already spoken to the doctor and erik will need to be on an antibiotics treatment for a week, and then he'll need to return to the hospital again in ten days to get the staples removed. )

The thing is, you have got antibiotics being administered through IV for the night and I am beyond exhausted and don't trust myself to drive us home. ( he toes his shoes off and climbs into the bed, being careful not to cause erik any additional pain as he moves to lie down next to him. )

Oh. ( playfully, he snaps his fingers, and just like magic, to erik, it will seem like he's suddenly in the familiar comforts of charles' room. ) Better? ( no more hospital environment. that is sort of dreary. but at least he did manage to get erik a private room. ) I didn't know you cared about the curtains. I don't think they've been changed in over a decade. We could get something else if you want. ( it's erik's room as much as his own now really. )
